The festival of Holi proved to be a rallying point for the members of the Dwarka Co-operative Group Housing Society (CGHS) who have gone in for self-draw of flats. The CGHS members came together to demand an early solution to their problems.
The venue was IDC Society, Sector 11. On the day, Ashok Kumar, Convener, Association of Suffering Members of CGHS, exhorted the members to start living in the self-allotted flats immediately. He said there was no problem in getting water and electricity connections in these flats. In many societies, connections have been given by the concerned agencies, as no Provisional Occupancy Certificate (POC) is required for this.
Merely taking the keys of the flat is not enough. It was suggested that if someone is not in a position to move in immediately, the flat should be given on rent. The members pointed out that self-allotments have propelled the government to conduct the remaining draws on a priority basis but there are so many glitches leading to the delay.
It was agreed that the suffering members should wait for the draw for a reasonable time failing which, they should conduct a self draw.
