Members of the Dwarka Forum recently held a meeting with the Chief Engineer, Dwarka Projects, S. R. Solanki to discuss various issues related to the Dwarka Subcity.
Interestingly, in the meeting the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) provided a time frame for various development projects in Dwarka. Some of the issues discussed were lack of community halls in different sectors, problems pertaining to drinking water especially in DDA pockets, repair of DDA flats, parks development, upcoming sports complexes, roads relaying projects and need for multilevel parkings.
Other projects that can add to quality of life in Dwarka also came up for discussion. The projects such as local shopping centres (LSC), new sports complex, Disctrict Centre and development of water bodies were also discussed.
The issue of failure of the DDA to auction shops in number of LSCs in Dwarka was however unresolved but the Chief Engineer promised to take up the matter with the officials concerned in the DDA as the matter related to the commercial wing. and in connection with Dwarka roads Solanki informed that Rs. 20 crore has been approved for the project.
He further informed that the multilevel parking projects have been approved in Sectors 7, 10, 13 and 22. According to Solanki, the work on the repair of DDA flats would also start in three months. For commencing work on the community centres, time of four to six months has been specified in most cases.
