Bharat Vandana Park, Sector 20 is one of the most ambitious projects on the planning map of Dwarka. Though promoted as the glory of the city why its development has not been stated even after a decade is a major question. As per the plan a meditation centre, a laughing club, an internet centre, information kiosk, children's fun club, food outlet, public utilities and facilities are proposed to be built in the park.
Executive Engineer of DDA SWD 9, NK Prabhakar replied, "The survey has been done and data sent to architect department in June. After that there is no information. Only after approval from architect department we would be able to proceed with civil work".
The area of the park would be around 80 acres and it would be the largest park in the sub-city. Assistant engineer SK Kocher says that excluding the area covered by the command tank the park area is 76.6 acres. Sources from DDA inform that the project file is still in Vikas Minar. In a reply to RTI application filed by president of Dwarka Forum Rejimon CK it was mentioned that the project had been approved by the screening committee of DDA and the process of implementation of project was being initiated. Rejimon says, "It has been over one year but we haven't noticed any implementation or update on the project. Dwarka residents are eagerly waiting to know how much work has been completed or what is the current status of development".
When contacted, concerned officials of architect department were unavailable for comment. As a matter of fact almost all the officials were on leave or were out of station.
